Two Weeks of Winter
As each day passes, minds are changing for the better regarding sustainability and the desire to live in a world worth living in. The youth of the world are re-contemplating there futures regarding lovers, having babies, as well as finding ways to become more greener than there parents and grandparents ever were.
I am very proud of anyone making such a stand against the destruction of the only planet we have. Recycling, turning to other forms of energy other than the same old ways our parents and grandparents attempted to propel through life which only destroyed our earth in ways we now can see, feel, taste, and touch.
As for those who are not following through, having twenty children, or simply having children that they currently can care for now yet never look into the future regarding the possibility of not being able to do so down the road, this piece is for you.
We are all a few French fries short of a happy meal, every one of us, mind you some have fewer French fries than others. With that said, our individual footprint is more than just how much litter we make or how much food we consume. Our individual footprint is more than the amount of energy we use or how much pollution we put into the air.
Our individual footprint is life itself and every single element our life needs. Medication, hospitals, homes, roads, water, air, computers, wires, signals, clothes, work, education, schools, and the list goes on and on. Because we appear to be addicted to plastic, can you fathom how much will be needed for 70 billion plus people in the world? Can you imagine how much waste and trash will be created? Can you contemplate how many trees will have to be destroyed to create roads, houses, schools, ext for each child we will have?
Let’s also talk food, sure science can possibly create a way to turn one grain of rice into a supper food that can be made a million times over but do you really want to eat scientific man made processed food or would you prefer the all natural organic form?
All of this madness that those of you who do not see the forest for the trees are only widening everyone’s road into the future when it really isn’t necessary. The road all of us are on is still one that leads into the future but it must be sustained not widened. By widening the road for more people to be on (having more children than are needed, not using birth control, succumbing to your own ego empire, or simply not using common sense) you take away from the rest of us a brighter future while at the same time shortening our days as well as our seasons.
We as a society have already learned from our mistakes and are willing to begin turning the tide but those of you that continue to breed more than enough children, brining about more and more issues, are only slowing down the process.
Like a school classroom, there are those of us that wish to study and learn because we know better (not biting off more than we can chew and using our common sense regarding having one or two children with enough money to be able to care for them and raise them in a positive nurturing environment) while those of you who don’t think (having more children than you can care for or simply having more than two), act as class clowns, disturbing the learning environment, bringing about difficulty to make things right.
The road you widen only eats up more environment to live off of. Such environment sustains the normalcy of our days as well as our seasons. Destroying this environment throws our days as well as our seasons in disarray, lessoning our chances to enjoy a natural spring, summer, autumn, and winter, warming up the planet instead of cooling it off, brining memories of long cold winters into two week seasons non of us can live in.
Think about it.
Blessed Be-
