Dear Ms. BADASS (Shannen Doherty)
My beautiful Love, knowing how much I am a fan of your work, decided to surprise me for my birthday a few weeks ago, with your guide, “BADASS” and although I only began to read it yesterday, I want to thank you for the work I have read thus far. As in any university, a full book report isn’t usually done right off the bat. It usually takes more than two or three readings to complete a book and it is in between such times that a review of the material read up to that point is reviewed.
As an English Lit Major, years ago, I must say that I have read from some of the greatest authors/works of all time; Toni Morrison, Edger Allen Poe, Salman Rushdie, William Faulkner, Walt Whitman, & Sylvia Plath. I have also enjoyed reading material via Jim Morrison, Ted Hughes as well as Alan Alda and what I have learned from all of them is that no matter what, if the message is clear enough for all to understand, it is a good read.
Your book is also a good read. Although I am only about halfway through it, beginning yesterday, time always being an issue, I am happy with most of the message you attempt to deliver thus far. You stress the importance of believing in yourself as well as taking full responsibility for your actions no matter the outcome. You press the fact that despite one’s past, it is important to leave the past behind and move forward, always.
One issue I do have isn’t really an issue at all and believe me, I do understand, that issue being that your book appears to be directed only to women. Again, I understand. I strongly suggest that although it is directed only to one sex, all should read this material for I have always believed that no matter what sex you may have been born into at this time, because reincarnation has yet to be disproved, it is very possible that we at one time or another were of either sex.
Your book Ms. Doherty, in my opinion, speaks to both sexes in one way or another as well as on an equal footing at times. In other words, there are moments when it doesn’t matter what sex one may be when reading the material that a cord could possibly be struck for both sexes to hear.
You present a positive message thus far Ms. Doherty, Ms. BADASS and I look forward to completing your work in the very near future.
Blessed Be-
