Bon Appetit

When was the last time you made your friend, family member, or lover on the other side something special to eat? Some traditions believe in doing so during certain times of the year which has always given me the idea to share what ever it is I am eating with those I pray for on the other side by offering what I call “Spiritual Servings”. By doing this, I am reflecting as well as respecting there existence on the other side as well as there impact on my life past, present, and future.

One thing I have done in the past and try to do at times throughout the year is make something for a lover, friend, or family member then share such meal via spiritual servings, with them while sharing such a meal with my love and or friends in the flesh.
I believe that actions speak louder than words thus the time and effort put into the action of preparing the meal, not to mention the energy, speaks volumes when expressing your appreciation for one person you actually made the meal for in there memory.

I believe that it is with the energy, our loved ones can flourish even more so on the other side and give them something to talk about with others on the other side other than the trials and success’s they witness us go through on a daily basis. I look at it as a form of prayer and one that should be practiced as often as possible. Can you imagine the joy a loved one might have while expressing to others they speak to beyond space and time, that you went out of your way and in memory of them made them a meal of steak and potatoes covered in chives, fried onions, roasted bell peppers, and fresh chives and that you then shared the meal, as if the one you made it for was the provider themselves, with friends, lovers, and or family. Personally, I think such a thought would be beautiful. I also feel that it really would brighten the soul of the person we did such food preparation for.

There of course are other ways of expressing one’s love for someone we care about that have passed on but when I think about the kitchen of any home, especially mine, being the hearth of the house, the one spot where everyone can come together to experience the joy of each others company, what better place to express the fondness you have for someone than to be in such a warm and cozy place, your kitchen.

Bon Appetit my beautiful sisters and brothers.

Blessed Be-
