South Of The Boarder

Yesterday I was faced with a question which made me think. An acquaintance of mine asked me the question, “If I was getting out of my car and was suddenly faced with a reporter asking me how I felt about immigration laws, what would I say?” With that one question, a flood of thoughts came to my mind but as is always the case, once the dust settled, there were only a few personal thoughts of mine still standing. One thought in particular was how reincarnation can explain this issue once and for all.

First and foremost, I believe that we need to remember, how we treat others will come back to us ten fold. Also, where one is born doesn’t necessarily mean where one will die.

So many times we have watched on television the issues of “illegal immigrants” spilling into countries whether it be people crossing from one country to another in the Middle East or Europe, or from Mexico into the U.S. A. We see that when such things happen, those that have made the attempt to go from one country to another either are forced back into the land from which they came or killed immediately, while within the country many had escaped into without being caught, are treated unfairly by being paid very little money to do the work those that live in such country are unwilling, for what ever reason to do.

We also see people of the same nationality who were natural citizens born into the same country that is now pushing people of similar origin away, being questioned and mocked because of such boarder questions/policies. With all of this going on, what if the reality was/is that those attempting to get into a particular country had actually been citizens of such country in a past life? What if one reason these same people that were trying to get into one country to another illegally, at one time mocked or put down others for doing so when they were on the other side of the fence? What if, based on karma, those killed while attempting to get into one country from another had actually killed others making the same attempt in a past life?

Reincarnation, I believe if really looked into, can explain so much not just with this issue but practically every issue we face on a national scale as well as on an individual level. With that said, might I suggest that we re-think our own individual lives and keep in mind that we really would like others to treat us the way we treat them. By doing so, we not only may become better people to one another, we may also learn more about ourselves in the process.
