Fireflies At Dusk & Dawn

As the late Spring turns into Summer, and barbeques and beach parties become often occurrences; where love and lust is in the air as we take time out to enjoy viewing the half naked bodies of one another; be sure my beautiful brothers and sisters to take time out to gaze at the firefly.

The firefly to me is a special treat to watch during these hot sticky months as well as a reminder to me of two of the most powerful moments of any day those being dawn and dusk. Where night and day dance together and in Wiccan Tradition, prayers and spells can be heard more clearly. If the average spell/prayer has the normal volume range of 5 on a scale of 1-10 when heard by our maker/makers as well as loved one’s in the heavens, then during such special times, when the firefly reminds us all of the dance that is at such time taking place, I have learned that our spells and prayers can be heard at a much better volume; say an 8 or a 9.

It is at these times I try to make my point to the heavens the most, if only to say thank you for the day, my life, my love, and or the blessings bestowed upon me. It is at this time when I say thank you to the energies all around and a time when I stop to respect myself.

We to often get lost in our day to day living not necessarily recognizing the moments when a pause regarding the world around us is/should/might be in order. As we waltz through time on an hourly basis, laughing and loving those closest to us or simply setting time aside for ourselves and or our familiars, we may miss out on Father Time’s gifts/reminders of when the time might be best to make our presence known to the energies of the universe. Thanks to Mother Nature, we are given a reminder during those precious warm nights via the firefly as she herself appears to go from night to day then back to night in an instant.

So when you bask in your personal glory for making it though the day or night especially come the fun and brilliant weekend, should you see your reminder caressing the air in all of her majesty, might I suggest you pause, if only for a moment to say a personal thank you to your creator/s and to yourself. You & Your Creator/s deserve it.
