Charmed I’m Sure!

Hollywood has been one of the biggest advocates this world has ever seen when it comes to the idea of opening the individual mind as well as the exploration of self. It was in a very comical yet subtle way via “I Love Lucy” that Hollywood brought the idea of a mixed marriage to light which assisted the world to realize that love does not recognize color which then lead to a deeper understanding via Sydney Poitier in “Look Who’s Coming To Dinner”.

Hollywood has also broken barriers regarding acceptance/accepting ourselves/others thanks to such classics as “The Munsters” & “The Adams Family” which explained that despite our differences we are really all the same.

“Gilligan’s Island” taught about isolation and team work. The Movie, “Summer Lovers” assisted the world to recognize that love may happen between more than two people at the same time, and then there is the world of magic.

It is my opinion that Hollywood did some of its best work as advocates for the open mind/society when it brought to the small screen such classics as “Bewitched” and “I Dream of Jeannie”. Then in 1996 Hollywood gave us the movie “The Craft” and in 1998, my most favorite television series “Charmed”.

Although I had begun practicing/opening my mind a decade before “Charmed” first aired, “Charmed” blew the doors wide open regarding spirituality, girl power, acceptance, struggle, and understanding. Thanks to Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan, and Alyssa Milano as well as a brilliant cast of extras in front of and behind the scenes, I learned that many of the outward “demons” they faced were really much like that of the inner demons we all face. The wish to just stop, disappear, know what is going to happen before it does or simply just move things the hell out of our/my way, are ideas, attitudes, or simply energetic DNA we all share.

In fact since man first found a way to correspond/share with the world creative as well as imaginative ways to rethink our own individual world’s whether it be through the very first radio shows before television or television itself, whether it be through movies or ground breaking shows that woke up our ordinary daily lives, we owe Hollywood as well as all of those that took part via the bigger picture, a great big “Thank You” for being human/spiritual advocates in our lives for it was Hollywood and it’s many cast’s of radio, television shows, and movies that assisted us in having our own individual charmed lives.
