Summer Lovers

Hello my beautiful sisters and brothers, the first day of summer is finally here and as for those of you on the winter side of it all, do not feel left out for your summer will be back soon.

As the warm summer nights begin to take shape opposite the hot half naked days, I find it to be a time for all of us to not only enjoy the beauty all around us but the wonderful spirit within us all as well. I also find it a time for us to take on challenges, internal and external as we find ourselves surrounded by each other dressed in some very revealing ways. For some of us, it will be a time to express our sexual energy while for others it might be a time to control our sexual urges. What ever the case, summer seems to be the almighty aphrodisiac of the year, a time of fun, pleasure, spirituality, and love.

In 1982, a unique movie entitled, “Summer Lovers” starring Peter Gallagher, Daryl Hannah, and Valerie Quennessen told the story of a young couple coming to Greece for a summer vacation together but what they found was the joy of love with each other & another. I bring this up because it is in my opinion that because summer appears to strip us down to our barest essentials, it also assists us in melting down any cold hearts we may have; cold hearts that at one time may have been frozen in spiritual ways, judgmental ways, or ways of hatred towards lifestyles and or the sexes.

I believe summer brings to light the naughtiness we all feel then brings to the surface our desires which if we allow to go into full bloom, can teach us that love is just that, love. What is lust? I believe it is simply the first stage of love and that we should not only find those who share in such mutual agreement, but when finding them and in harmony with one another, enjoy the pleasure of being together whether it be with one or two or more sometimes at the same time.

We must remember that we come from the animal kingdom therefore we are animals and have the animal instincts to find the satisfaction we long for with another. Summer allows this to happen, unleashing our energy, energy built up over the long cold days of winter. Summer is a time for you my naughty sisters and manly brothers to spend time exploring who you are, what you are all about, and how it all relates to the person you will become.

Summer is a time to not only enjoy the love of others but also the love of self. Respecting your body, your soul, and your maker/s can make the joy of the season one that will lead you to breaking down barriers you may have been taught to have towards others allowing yourself to be free to love who you want and how ever many you want.

As the spirit of summer comes into your life, might I suggest that you appreciate it, respect it, find yourself in it, and most of all enjoy it. Have fun my wonderful brothers and sisters on this first day of summer, and may the lessons of love that you learn, keep your spirit and heart always in this wonderful spiritual season
