August is Upon Us, Are You Ready?
Sacrifice
We all do it but how often and in what form of measure? How much is time worth or the simple pleasure of one’s voice over the phone? What is sacrifice really and is it fair to contemplate karmic payback should one do so?
How do you sacrifice for a friend, do you make time for them? Do you stop what you are doing despite how difficult it may be to pull yourself away from what ever it is you are doing, and simply give a friend a call? Is that when it counts the most and how do you know if it was really worth the effort? Could it be when your friend thanks you for calling or gives a soft laugh when they hear your voice? What do you feel inside when such simple pleasures become aware?
How do you sacrifice for family? Is it when one makes that special effort to sit down and listen to what a family member has to say or is it when an offering of food is presented and shared? Is blood thicker then water and if so does family come before one’s friends? Is there a time in any given day when you sway away from your own world to join the worlds of those under the same roof in unison and takes note of the blessings bestowed upon you in the form of family? How beautiful that must be for you I’m sure.
How do you sacrifice for your lover? How often do you give in to there naughty role play while you look ahead to when such roles become reversed so that you get to be the naughty one? Is it a true show of sacrifice when you give your entire body completely to someone for them to enjoy and do they do so in return for you?
What about sacrificing for your own spirituality? Have you made time out to do so today? Have you given your creator/creators, a moment of your time to simply acknowledge your gratitude for the life given to you?
Please remember my brothers and sisters; you are no good to anyone until you are good to yourself first. Make time for yourself, more than just a moment, and bath in its waters of dreams and memories. Float upon the clouds of your thoughts and allow yourself to simply travel where ever your thoughts take you. In the end you will feel refreshed and well rested. Once complete, continue taking on the world the best way you know how and remember my prayers are with you.
Blessed Be-
